PINNED COLLAR

HOW TO WEAR IT

Our pinned collar is essentially a button down collar (sans buttons) with eyelet holes meant to hold a collar bar. This shirt should only be worn with a collar bar and with a tie. We prefer it with a four in hand or half windsor tie knot. Collar stays are also not included as a standard.

Background

A classic collar style which emerged in the early 20th century.  A funcitioning collar bar holds the two ends of the collar together and passes beneath the knot of tie. It functions similarly to a tabbed collar, which keeps the collar in place and lifts the knot just enough to provide an elegant arc to the necktie. Fans of James Bond will be familiar with this style as it was featured in the latest film Spectre.
