Icon of Style | James Dean

February 5th, 2010

A good rule of thumb when looking for inspiration for your wardrobe, is not the current fad in the nearest Details magazine, but looking back on someone that did it better. During mid century America, James Dean was one of those. He didn’t care about keeping himself pretty like his fellow actors, but got dirty and real. Living life, instead of fearing it, is what makes him a style icon and much more.

January 16th, 2010

During Christmas break, I laid low with the family. I got lazy, had too many beers and enjoyed a terrific dinner hosted by my brother’s wife in the warm glow of California. On the other hand, Deo Veritas’s founder and CEO, Vinnie Sikka, made the 15 hour journey to Hong Kong to pay a visit to our tailors.

Keeping Up Appearances | Dress Shirt Maintenance

January 7th, 2010

There’s nothing more classic than the button down dress shirt. We all have them hanging in our closets, ready at a moments notice. They’re used everyday in a variety of situations. At the office. Dinner with a lady. Your buddy’s wedding. At the bar sipping cocktails.

Libation: The Manhattan

December 17th, 2009

It was frigid when I stepped outside, but I was feeling mellow, content. I had left Old Town Social after a few Manhattan’s, the mood still lingering. I was doing good, mid winter nothing but a rumor.
